Product Placement

So many times I feel like I am bombarded with messages urging me to buy this, or buy that. As I surf through the channels at 2 AM, there is nothing but informercials on about a new weight loss program, or a video that will help you get ready for swim suit season. Whether it is on TV during your favorite episode of Grey's Anatomy, or in your favorite movies, there is constantly a demand for our attention for the products that our favorite characters use.

I recently revisted my favorite TV series the OC and watched few episodes on DVD this weekend and noticed that even, in the first few episodes, there are the characters eating LAY's potatoe chips, and the bag is clearly marked. Producers were able to get Lay's to advertise within the first 3 episodes.

The next time you go to the theater and pay $8 to see a new movie like Blades of Glory, see how many times you notice a name brand used or a product that is strategically placed for its aucience to see how it is being used and who is using it. Does it have an effect on the brand you choose to eat or drink?

Juice Cleanse

As promised, here is my blog post on how my 1-day juice cleanse went. I know, it's a little late, but my school schedule has been crazy...and it was Grape Stomp this past weekend. Serial Swiper

In the world of online dating it is a swipe left or swipe right. Swipe right means you're interested, and a swipe left means no thanks. We all judge. We judge based on pictures posted to a profile. We judge based on the information provided in a profile, or lack there of. We judge on their height, their profession, and sometimes whether they have any pictures of themselves without sunglasses or a hat on! Right now, I'm a serial swiper.  I've been open to dating and dating for at least six months now, but only got online with the famous dating apps a few weeks ago; Tinder and Bumble. Maybe I'm really still old school about how dating should be, but I feel like if you "match" with someone, the guy should be the first one to reach out and initiate a conversation. USHL and NAHL Faceoff

This is my first story- and one of three about sports. Enjoy...... USHL & NAHL Face-off Ice, snow, and blustering winds don’t keep these fans away from a hockey game. SUVs, trucks, and mini-vans of all sorts fill the parking lot. A line of 50 people stretches from the ticket window out to the sidewalk. It’s game time at the Coliseum, for the Fargo-Moorhead Jets. But the Force is coming into town, and plans to heat things up. Hockey isn’t something new to the Fargo-Moorhead area. From little mites to hockey elites, this town is filled with hockey. Currently, Fargo is the host to the North American Hockey League team known as the Fargo-Moorhead Jets. With the new Urban Plains facility planning to open its doors for the 2008 season, many people worry the Jets are going to be grounded.
