Product Placement

So many times I feel like I am bombarded with messages urging me to buy this, or buy that. As I surf through the channels at 2 AM, there is nothing but informercials on about a new weight loss program, or a video that will help you get ready for swim suit season. Whether it is on TV during your favorite episode of Grey's Anatomy, or in your favorite movies, there is constantly a demand for our attention for the products that our favorite characters use.

I recently revisted my favorite TV series the OC and watched few episodes on DVD this weekend and noticed that even, in the first few episodes, there are the characters eating LAY's potatoe chips, and the bag is clearly marked. Producers were able to get Lay's to advertise within the first 3 episodes.

The next time you go to the theater and pay $8 to see a new movie like Blades of Glory, see how many times you notice a name brand used or a product that is strategically placed for its aucience to see how it is being used and who is using it. Does it have an effect on the brand you choose to eat or drink?

I've Got This

I've been silent for quite some time from this blog. At times I don't always know what to say and don't always want to have negative things going on to write about. However, at the same time I am so tired of having to be fake and being "OK" all the time. I'm not perfect, and I'm doing better. Some days are better than others and some days are even great. I'm so happy at where I am at these days and I am feeling so accomplished for so many things. At the same time, there are days where I feel like I'm thrown back and have to face everything head on all over again. I'm learning that my former extended family doesn't belong to me any more, especially now that there is another girl in A's life. I need to allow for her and A and his family to start their own memories and start developing whatever relationship is going to happen. I absolutely adore them and will always care about them. Seeing pictures of the lake, and the pontoon makes me m...

Catching up

It's been awhile since my last post but life has seen to be keeping me busy. The holidays were fine as usual and I was able to celebrate with a few friends. I still can't remember to write 2016 on my checks. I'm getting into the groove of teaching 3 classes a week at Vital Fit Club, which Racquetball Plus. My life has literally come in full circle. Because of how everything ended in my last communications position I've decided to look at new career options.  My self-esteem is so low on being able to complete anything correctly I just need to find my new niche. Every year in January I always ask myself why I live here in Minnesota, where winter is half the year!?! Oh well. Someday I will live in a warm state. If I try some spiralizing I will post pictures. Hope everyone has a great week and take a few minutes each day to reflect, center your body, and take a few relaxing breaths. 🎎

End of the Year Wrap Up

If I gave myself a dollar for every time I said, "Wow, time really flies by!" I'd likely have my student loans paid off. I haven't written a post in over 6 months, since my last post was June 11th. But once again, I have been busy...because who isn't!?! No excuses, but I have held back a little bit due to my new position and getting the feel for my new digs, new location, new job, new friends, new routine and all that jazz. Well, if you hadn't figured it out by now, shortly after my last post I was offered and accepted a position teaching full-time health. Exciting right!?! It was. It was absolutely the most amazing thing to ever experience hearing over the phone, we would like to offer you a position. It is even more amazing when you get the offer the same day of the interview, and even better when you left the interviewing thinking to yourself, this is where I need to be. This is where my career should begin. In my previous post "Where Have I been...
